PHP Developer (Laravel)

Key responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain APIs and backend services for the assessment system using PHP 8 and Laravel.
- Design data structures and tune MySQL queries for question banks, exam sessions, and result reporting.
- Keep the system stable under load when many candidates sit an exam at once, using queues and background jobs.
- Write automated tests and take part in code review to keep quality consistent.
- Work with the product, QA, and assessment operations teams to ship features to production.
- Monitor performance, logs, and incidents; fix defects and improve service reliability.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of web development experience with PHP, including hands-on work with Laravel.
- Strong MySQL skills: relational database design and query optimization.
- Able to design and build RESTful APIs with authentication, authorization, and basic web security.
- Solid grasp of OOP and MVC and a habit of writing clean, tested code.
- Comfortable with Git and a branch-based workflow with code review.
- Able to read English technical documentation and communicate well in a team.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Redis, queues, Docker, or CI/CD.
- Background in high-traffic products or online exam and assessment systems.
- Working knowledge of Vue.js or React to collaborate on the frontend.
