The problem
Language assessment is harder than multiple-choice assessment in one fundamental way: two of the four skills cannot be marked by matching an answer key. Speaking needs audio capture, and writing needs judgement against a criteria scale.
The seven certification formats also differ sharply in scoring scale, section structure, and timing rules.

The approach
Listening and reading reuse the objective marking mechanism shared with the other platforms in the ecosystem. Speaking and writing were separated into their own flow, where AI supports assessment against the criteria scale of each format.
Format configuration remains data, as on the competency platform, so all seven formats run on one core.
